Fitness Frankie's Week in Mrs. S's Primary Class!

Hi everyone,
I had a wonderful week in Mrs. S's primary class! I got my heart rate up several times over the course of the week. In PT (My friends tell me that PT means Physical Therapy) I skipped, hopped, galloped, knee walked, and jumped on the mini-trampoline! I also went on many errands throughout the week with one of my friends from the class. I spent time making copies, checking the mail in the main office, and delivering messages around the school. I participated in my very first Jump Rope for Heart! My friends told me that Jump Rope for Heart teaches them about how to keep their hearts healthy and also helps others by raising money for the American Heart Association! I was proud to be a part of it! I learned how to jump rope with Mrs. D. as well as listen to my own heartbeat with a "stethoscope". My friends told me that a stethoscope is what a doctor uses to hear your heartbeat. It was VERY COOL to use one! I even got a sticker! It was so big I had to put it on my back! That's me during Jump Rope for Heart in the picture! I also participated in the children's PE classes this week, I danced every day to the Cha-Cha-Slide before "Writer's Workshop", I marched around the room singing color songs, jumped to counts by 5's, and enjoyed the warm spring air at recess!

I had a special job at night this week when the students went home. I had to be on the look-out for the tricky little leprechaun who played many tricks on us throughout the week. I tried several times to catch him, but the leprechaun was just to fast for me! One day my friends discovered me stuck up on the flagpole in the classroom on St. Patrick's Day! What a workout I had to climb up there!

I used a great deal of energy throughout the week in Mrs. S's room and I had to refuel and rehydrate (that means eat and drink water....) often to keep my body healthy while working so hard. I only ate nutritious snacks such as bananas, oranges, yogurt, crackers, and goldfish. I drank a lot of water everyday! I really enjoyed the fruit platter that one of the student's mom brought in to share with the class. What a nice mom! I had a great time with my friends in Mrs. S's class and I look forward to my new adventures this week with a new class! I LOVE Healthy Highway! I am spending this week in Mrs. C's class! Love, Fitness Frankie
